A470 – Llwyn-on to Llandudno Junction Trunk Road

The A470 is a strategic north-south route of national, regional and local importance; it runs the length of Wales from Llandudno Junction and the A55 in the north, through the Snowdonia National Park to the M4 corridor and Cardiff on the south coast. The length of A470 in North and Mid Wales is generally a single carriageway road of varying width and standard.

The section of A470 in North and Mid Wales is 241Kms (150 miles) in length and links the settlements of Llandudno Junction, Llanrwst, Betws-y-Coed, Blaenau Ffestiniog,Dolgellau, Caersws, Llanidloes, Rhayader, Builth Wells and Brecon.

There is a short break in the route where it is intersected by the A5 trunk road near Betws-y-Coed.
